I was helping out a friend in the Home Building Business in the 1980’s where every kitchen and bath were wallpapered. I enjoyed the satisfaction that wallpaper gave to the completion of the project. I have always been a perfectionist; a trait I learned from my father, who was a New England trade school Finish Carpenter. He soon became a superintendent for a reputable builder in Sarasota Florida. His projects included large Condominium Complexes, Custom Homes and Churches.
A few years later I was pulled into the direction of Fine Wallcovering. My mother was in charge of wallpaper sales with Lambert Interiors and my uncle, Richard Spignesi, was the lead designer along with his assistant Barbara Forbes Bell, at Robb & Stucky in Sarasota, FL. It seemed natural that I would evolve into the business of fine wallcovering.
Through my connections with Robb & Stucky, my career in the 1980’s and 1990’s it brought me into a higher level of Boutique Wallcoverings. I was installing papers that were new to the industry such as hand painted, torn papers, embossed with seashells and sand. I was able to enhance the beauty of many homes in the Gulf Coast of Florida in which the walls are still relevant today and among the finest in Sarasota.

My move to Nashville, TN in 1996 was inspired by the growth of a new frontier. My career accelerated when I began working with some of the best designers in the Nashville area and word of mouth increased my business tremendously.
Being a member of the National Guild of Professional Paper Hanger (NGPP), and the Wallcovering Installers Association (WIA), has bolstered my career more than I ever expected. I am honored to complete my work with the code of ethics associated with these professional organizations.

Knowing the industry is changing every day, I am able to stay in touch with trends due to my involvement with the WIA National Convention, and daily updates on new patterns and products thru the WIA and my cohorts. We all recently made a trip to Oxford and London England on a technology tour which enabled us to communicate with some of the world leading experts in our field. We worked hands on in several wall paper factories such as Lewis & Wood, Fromental, Cole & Sons, Anstey, and conducted an installation forum with Meystyle-LED wall covering. We were also honored to experience a personal one on one workshop with Allison McDermit who is one of the world’s leading authority on conserving, recreating block print, and hanging historic wallpapers. She is part artist, part scientist, and part Sleuth. She has the ability to peel away the layers of history for clients including the National Trust, Historic Royal Palaces, and interior designers and architects worldwide.
